The rapper best known as Supa Mega or Bhova to his fans died on Friday night. He was 35 years old.
Current reports share that AKA was shot and killed in a drive-by shooting by unknown gunmen. The multi-award-winning rapper was accompanied by his former manager and guard Tumelo Motsoane who was also shot in the drive-by shooting.

Both AKA and Tumelo were pronounced dead on the scene.
It is reported that AKA and Tumelo had supper at the restaurant Wish in Durban and were preparing to leave the venue when they were suddenly ambushed and killed by unknown gunmen.
An investigation has been opened to unravel the perpetrators responsible for the death of the well-renown rapper in South Africa. The rapper’s death has also made waves internationally in the US.
Before his tragic passing, AKA was due to perform at the YUGO nightclub in Durban for a birthday celebration event. The nightclub subsequently canceled the event “due to unforeseen circumstances”.
The passing of AKA was met with great sadness from his fans as supporters reflect on the violent nature of his death.

Around 15 hours ago the rapper took to his Instagram Stories to share a snap of his supper at Wish. it is assumed that the AKA has been a target for a while and that his murderers have been watching his whereabouts till the time of his passing.
Eye Witness News reports that the shooting took place after 10 pm on Friday night. The two bodies were covered in Umbrella’s at the restaurant and were taken away at around 2 am on Saturday morning.
In a statement shared on his verified Instagram account, his parents Tony and Lynn Forbes confirmed the news of his death.
“It is with extreme sadness that we acknowledge the death of our beloved son and confirm his untimely and tragic passing on the evening of February 10th, 2023.”
In their plea to the public, his family shared that they would appreciate “compassion, space, and time” to decide on what’s next for the upcoming days.
AKA leaves behind his daughter her shares with DJ Zinhle, his girlfriend Nadia Nakai and the rest of his family members.
