The Top 1 Skill As An Influencer

The influencer

Ever wondered how individuals make it to the top in the world of influencing? In the modern era, this job title is often the most underrated, with some actually taking the stance that this isn’t a job at all. Well, a new experiment showed just how relevant it really is and the psychology behind this world of work.

In a new Netflix series, a group of influencers go head to head in a battle of being the most relevant influencer. Their first task? To get as many likes as possible to make it to the next round. But, like many reality shows, there is a plot twist.

What Comes With The Territory Of Influencer Marketing

While the contestants were prompted to get as many likes as possible, some were raking up much more dislikes than likes which worried them that they might be disqualified.

To get these likes, the contestants made sure they do everything in their power to be liked, but when dislikes started rolling in, it felt like a gut punch to these popular influencers.

For those who wanted to get a more positive response and actually get likes, they decided that they would put themselves out there and perform and show a talent. This way, the influencers can get noticed for something more than just a simple interaction or their introduction video – which gave other influencers a glimpse into who they are as an influencer.

Being Remembered Versus Being Cookie Cutter

As it turns out, whether you get a large amount of likes or whether you get a large amount of dislikes, what really mattered is that you got a response out of people. So much is true as we’ve noticed in the real world. People become popular for doing something bad or good.

The principle out of this tactic is that you’ve done something that people will remember. Take, for instance, Kanye West, he will always be notorious for taking controversial stances.

In the end, putting themselves out there and being their authentic selves brought more of a response than just doing what they thought people wanted. Put plainly, being an influencer requires being able to accept any response, whether positive or negative. The world would ultimately be a boring place if everyone likes the same thing right?
