Ruby Franke and business partner Jodi Hildebrandt has both pleaded guilty to four of the six charges made against them.
After garnering plenty of attention on the Youtube channel titled 8 passengers, it seems that the worrisome feedback viewers have given, were one’s that shouldn’t have gone unnoticed.
Ruby Franke admits to emotionally and physically abusing her children
At their recent sentencing, Ruby Franke pleaded guilty to making one of her children do laborous work in the sun without food or water, leading to the child developing blisters on his body. Fortune reports that Franke explained this to be an act of love and a way for him to repent for his wrongdoing. On another count, she pleaded guilty to tying up one of her children by their limbs as well as putting duct tape on their lips.
Prior to charges made against her, Ruby Franke received extensive criticism for her parenting advice on her Youtube channel after she documented banning her oldest son from his bedroom for pranking his younger brother. Franke has also admitted to kicking one of her sons with her boots as well as holding his head under water while holding his mouth and nose.
Youtube business partner shows no remorse
Apart from this, Franke’s business partner, Hildebrandt admitted to coercing Ruby’s daughter to jump in a cactus tree several times and force her and her brother to run in the street without shoes until their feet had blisters on them. In the midst of the court hearing, Ruby Franke claims to have been manipulated by her business partner.
During her court appearance, Ruby Franke shared that she pleaded guilty to the charges so that her children does not have to go through the trauma of having to relive their experiences.
In light of these events, The Youtube channel, 8 passengers has since been discontinued and Franke’s partner has also filed for divorce.
